Kohen is 2!!!

I honestly cannot believe that this little man is already 2!!!

Believe it mom!!

We had a fantastic day celebrating Kohen's birthday! After we got the 2 year well visit and shot out of the way it was smooth sailing! His 2 year stats are as follows...26 lbs and 34 inches tall!! Healthy boy!

The birthday boy and I ran to the mall and then stopped at our apartment to pick up daddy!

Gosh, he loves his daddy!

Being silly!
We had to run a few errands to make a couple decisions for the new house and then it was off to lunch! Kohen's choice...Blue Goose!! This 2 year old has great taste!

Loves his chips and "dip dip!"

"Mommy I sit. Cheeseburger!"

After lunch daddy had to get back to work.  Kohen and I spent some time playing on his new trampoline, and having a little midday dessert before picking Keagan up from school.

Serious Kohen!

Testing out his new trampoline! (Picture from earlier that morning)

This kid loves to jump!!
Next up....present time! We waited until later that afternoon to open gifts so we could all be together. I'm pretty sure Keagan was more excited about the gift opening than Kohen! Although I have to say, Kohen did a great job tearing into the wrapping paper!

Ohh...a new basketball hoop!

"What's in there brother?"

Sweet boy is very focused on his gift opening!
The last activity on Kohen's birthday agenda was dinner at our favorite pizza place, Palios! One of the perks of our apartment is that we are within walking distance from Palios! We walked there last week and decided we would let Keagan drive the dune buggy there this week. It was absolutely hilarious watching the boys roll up in their own little car. They even parked it in the back!

We had a table for 16 on the patio and had fun night of pizza, cupcakes, and a little chaos at times!

"Happy Birthday to you!"

Ready to blow out his candles!

Yummy cupcake face!
After a few dune buggy rides around the parking lot, which started to be a little unsafe, it was time to call it a night!

Keagan and Nathan....scary thought in 12 years!

Keagan and Ally...keep your hands on the steering wheel son!!
Keags drove the birthday boy home and I'm pretty sure he was asleep the minute his precious face hit the pillow.

Kohen, we hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration! We get to do it all over again at the end of the month with even more of your friends! You are a sweet, silly, loving, and energetic little boy who I can't imagine life without!! Happy 2nd Birthday!!! We Love you!!

The End!

One Move Down...

and one more to go! Holy cow what a LONG week and weekend we had! I've decided moving is just NOT FUN!! I know it will all be worth it in the end and remind myself of this daily or should I say hourly! We owe a HUGE thank you to all of those that made our move much easier!! Tom, I think we would still be moving if you weren't for you! You have no idea how much we appreciated all your hard work!  Shannon and Rita, thank you for keeping the boys happy! Knowing they were in good hands was such a blessing!

We are finally settled into our apartment. We are slowly adjusting to the space , being on a second and third floor, and trying to keep the boys from sounding like elephants to the people below us. Unfortunately, the last statement isn't going so well!! I can't help they are little boys with lots of energy, but I do try and keep them from running and jumping until at least 8:00 am!! We tell everyone we meet that we are only here short term and we just might have to leave a little gift basket upon our departure!!

On the brighter side of things, we had our pre-construction meeting on Monday and things are underway with the house!! WOO HOO!! They are estimating a mid July finish but we are keeping our fingers crossed for a little sooner!! Now, if we could just pick out a darn brick and stone combination we'd be ahead of the game!
We have a frame!!

End of house...the rest (even past the trees) is yard!

Thanks again to all of you who helped, called, text, prayed, or even just asked how our move was going! We appreciate each and everyone of you!! If you are available in July and want to fulfill your good deed for the week we'd LOVE to have you!!!

Dash Down Greenville......

6:45 a.m.....ready to run??!!

For a few months now Rouse has been saying he was going to run a 5k, and he accomplished his goal on St Patty's Day!! He and his friend Robert decided to sign up for the Dash Down Greenville and both made their 5k debut! We were very proud of the guys and had a great time cheering them on!

Candice (Robert's wife) had the brilliant idea to take the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) from Plano down to Greenville Ave, instead of fighting traffic and dealing with parking! This was THE BEST IDEA EVER!! I have to admit, I was a little nervous about getting on the DART by myself (Rouse took an earlier train) with the boys, stroller, and all our gear, but it was SUPER easy and so convenient! We might become DART regulars!! Anyway, we loaded the train and enjoyed the the ride down town! The sea of green was wonderful and people were ready to celebrate! We arrived just as the race was starting, found a great spot to cheer on the runners as they sprinted to the finish line, and were determined to find Rouse and Robert in a crowd of 8,000 runners ALL wearing green!!

Kohen waiting at the DART station..7:10 am!

Rouse (behind the tutu) sprinting towards the finish line!

Robert giving high fives as he passes us!

The boys were so proud of their daddy!

Taking the DART back to Plano!

Mr. Cheese Face loved the train ride!

Congrats guys on your first race!! We are all very proud of your accomplishment!!

Unfortunately, we couldn't hang around for the St. Patrick's Day parade.  Keagan had a soccer game at noon. We did get a little glimpse of the floats while on the train ride home and it looked like tons of fun! Hopefully next year we can hang around a party it up! Cheers to a fantastic 2012 St. Patty's Day!!

Neglected....

I know I've been neglecting our blog lately, but I think I have a pretty good reason!

At the beginning of the year we decided to put our house on the market. We thought we would just list it and see what happened. If it sold, AWESOME, and if not, NO BIGGIE! We really love our house, love the location, love the school, we just wanted a little more space. So, on January 20th we were up for sale and by February 2nd we were in contract with new buyers! Feeling very blessed we sold so fast, we only had one minor issue...where are we going to go?? Rouse and I both agreed we would not actively go through other homes until our home sold. We really didn't want to fall in love with another house and then have to lose it because our house didn't sell. So we started our search and found this...

Yes folks we are building on this lot! We are very nervous, anxious, overwhelmed, but most of all extremely excited! Because we are building that also means 2 moves, and a short term lease in an apartment until the house is finished. We keep reminding ourselves it will all be worth it in the end!! Especially when these two have room to run, play, climb trees, and just be boys!

Iron Man and a Cowboy make packing so much more fun!

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we make the move out of our first home in Texas, into an apartment, and finally into our new home hopefully by July! It should be a fun and interesting summer!!
