The Rouse Family Vacation was sure to be one for the history books,
Destination - Jekyll Island, GA (One of the Sea Islands)
Attendees - 43 family and friends (I think this makes up about half of the island population)
Countries Represented - United States, Mexico, Japan (some family trees would add a few others)
Generations - Four
Duration - One Week
Alcohol Consumed - Unknown
Kristen's family has been coming to Jekyll Island for more than 30 years and has turned into somewhat of a family tradition. Renting five houses this year makes it one of the largest trips of any year, and as always The Baron house is the staple and meeting grounds for any meals or activities.

Grand Central Station |
Just down the path from the house was Grand Central Station, your standard three tent setup with all of the fixings; shovels, snacks, sand toys, chairs and your favorite cocktail.

Grandma Tessie, Stella, & Keagan playing in the waves. |
Playing in the waves with Grandma Tessie seemed to be a huge treat for everyone. The boys played great and both loved the beach!
|
Beach Bum |
Kohen was such a beach bum and was a constant mess of sand everyday, but had a smile on his face no matter the circumstance. He was such a trooper. Digging into the sand and trying to keep up with the older kids was always a mission for him.
Becoming a "cool surfer dude" was on the week's bucket list for Keagan. With the help of his Uncle Gator, Keags passed his training for week. Although riding the waves were limited to his belly and being pulled across the ocean, Keags still has the form!

Family Fun! |
The big activity of the week included a story by Grandma Rita to all of the great grandkids, a pirate ship was spotted off the coast of Jekyll Island. The kids were supposed to keep their eyes peeled for any pirate treasure. It didn't take long to spot a wine bottle in the ocean with a treasure map inside.
|
Keags helped the kids navigate the treasure map to the buried pirate booty. "X" marks the spot. |
|
Buried Treasure! The kids were so excited!
|
Thanks Grandma Tessie and Papa Keith for a great trip.
|
All in all, I would give the week a big . . .
