Crazy Fun Weekend!

This past weekend Grandma Tessie came to visit! Hopefully, Tessie wasn't looking for a relaxing vacation because we were NON STOP the whole time she was here! So busy that we didn't capture many pictures :(  Friday we took Keags to school and then headed out to do some shopping and had lunch at Dough! If you live in the Dallas area and haven't tried Dough...you should! It's delicious!!

Saturday we had an 8:00 a.m. soccer game so we were up bright and early to cheer on the Armadillos!! Actually, I think Keagan was up at 5:30 dressed in full uniform and ready to walk out the door! He sure doesn't get his sleeping habits from me!

After a late breakfast we decided to check out Grapefest in down town Grapevine! This was such a great time and we will definitely go back next year! These are the only pictures we captured of my mom being here this weekend....but they are good ones!!

So fun and so fast!

Keags loving the bumper cars!
Kohen's first trip to the petting zoo!
Sunday morning we had an even earlier wake up call...5:30 :( I decided to run a 1/2 marathon at the Plano Balloon Festival and the race started at 7:30. I would have happily gone by myself but Rouse decided they should all come down and cheer me on! While I was running and running, the boys were able to see the really neat hot air balloons. It was too windy for the actual balloon launch but they still enjoyed seeing the balloons up close!

After the race we ran home for quick showers and then off to a birthday party! The boys had such a great time at Little Gym and celebrating sweet Avery's 2nd birthday!

Ummm...can I get some help here??

Mom, we hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as we enjoyed having you. You certainly got a glimpse of our sometimes crazy, hectic, busy, but FUN life with these two boys!

Behind...

So I guess I should take the hint I received from my husband this morning, "Hey babe, you haven't posted a blog in awhile," and get a blog posted today! It's not like we haven't been busy or anything!

Keagan started Pre-K and is going 3 days a week. He is really enjoying his teacher and new classmates and so far we have had all GREEN light days!! It's still early in the year though!!

Keagan is also playing on the Armadillos soccer team and Rouse is coaching! I sort of volunteered Rouse to be a coach after receiving numerous emails from the association saying that they needed coaches or kids wouldn't be able to play. I'm not sure he is too thrilled about it, but he's doing a great job with the kids and I think he's learning a little bit about soccer himself! Keags is loving it and poor Kohen just wants to be out on the field...few years buddy!

OK mom!

Love the determination on his face!

Heading for the goal!

Aside from the 8:00 a.m. games on Saturday mornings I'm really enjoying being a soccer mom!!

Fishing!

Keagan has been asking to go fishing for months
and months! Every time we would drive by the ponds in our neighborhood he would BEG to go fishing. I kept telling him it was too hot to sit outside, and he didn't have a fishing pole so how was he going to fish?? Well, he had it all figured out...

"Mom, we can go to Target and get a fishing pole. I've seen them there before when we were buying your water bottle. You just go in the green door, get a cookie, and then go left and you'll see them hanging on the shelf. Then daddy will put the shrimp (not sure why he wants to use shrimp as bait) on the hook because that isn't a Keagan job. Then I will make a big cast out into the pond to catch the fish. Does that sound like a plan mom?"

Not kidding folks...Keags was on a serious mission to go fishing! So when Uncle Kurt came to town last week, they went to Target (he didn't get a cookie!) bought a fishing pole, and went fishing! He LOVED it! Didn't catch a SINGLE fish and sat down there for almost 2 hours! I was impressed he stuck with it that long, especially not catching anything! They even went back the next day with different bait and still no luck! Oh well, it's the fun that counts!

Thanks Uncle Kurt for capturing some great pictures!!
